Happy New Years Eve!

So currently I'm sitting at my desk creating abbreviations to my favorite words.
I texted Justine (my supes lazy running partner) the other day because she refused to run after work!

"You're totes gunna be jels when I'm supes skins."

It is possibly the thing that I'm most proud of for 2009.

So I promise I'll get better at updating this. As school starts I'm sure I'll need something to do to procrastinate my work and facebook? Well, mostly it puts me into a blind rage or makes me sad so this will keep me motivated I think.

Fuck you facebook for making me feel things that real people don't make me feel!

But honestly, these rage strokes I've been getting while obsessing on the internet have turned my running into a necessity for survival. It's refreshing and I'm convinced my ass is getting better with only 3 long runs under my (ass)belt

Anyways, I started running and it's been a blast. I've been running between 5-6 miles a day and already this week I've run 16 miles! I've also bought two new books, the first one is a classic marathon training book. It's nice because it gives stories and strategies to completing a race. My goal for this race isn't insane, I just would like to finish in 4 1/2 hours (that's what she said).

The other book is a nutrition book which I think most everyone I know needs to read. Basically everyone consumes about 1000 more calories a day than they should.

My new job, boring at times, is great because I walk to and from work which is about a mile or a mile and a half. It's perfect (perfs) because I can get some brisk walking in when I know I won't be running (like last night).

Something else... Oh! I'm changing my major (journalism/mass communication), that's exciting...

Uhhmm.

Yea, so runs are good though, I can do it without stopping and knock out 5.5 miles in roughly 45 minutes. The next step will be after the new year when training gets real, I up my mileage, pick up swimming on my cross training days, and Justine get's her ass (and boobs) up to run with me. We have literally almost 5 MONTHS exactly! It'll pass so much quicker than I expect so I need to keep it up.

Mostly I'm just excited to be really really busy for the next couple quarters and my reward for hate criming/Christ Browning winter quarter?

Spring Break in Paris.

Aw Snap. Watch out Paris, we're about to get classy on your ass and in your moufff.
Until we meet again internets

Look who it is

It's ME!
This is hard. I'm a little bored already, but lets try this out shall we?

I'm running a marathon and despite that look on my face I think I'm actually going to do this. I decided last month and this is my way of following through: by documenting it!
I'll be here documenting my runs, the horrible weather at 6 am, and all of the breaks and mistakes that I make while training.
This blog will follow me as I begin training, I'll also simultaneously be starting a new job this week and winter quarter in January at SU. I hope that by documenting this process I can learn a little about myself and have a fun journal to look back at once this is all done.

Since everyone is moving away or has moved away since the end of summer I felt the need for a change because I'm BORED. Also, Seattle is the WORST right now. The weather is making me want to kill myself and/or others (mostly others) and I think, from what I hear, I'll be as happy as a tan person but not tan.

Problem
I'm a crazy smoker. Granted most of my friends smoke more than I do, but I still can smoke a pack a day if I drink enough. Hopefully I'll kick the habit once I get into training.

I'm also a drinker if you didn't guess that. Hopefully this process will lead me to a little bit healthier of a lifestyle.

Routine
This is a 26 week training which will actually be about 29 since I'm starting a few weeks early.
It's broken down into 3 phases. I'm starting phase I which is 9 weeks long. My weekly running load will also be 10-20 miles a week. I'll be pushing on the longer side.

Goal
I'm in it to win it! June 6th is the race date! I'll be running 26.2 miles in the Rock'n'Roll San Diego Marathon. June is my favorite month in San Diego and with the coast wind it'll be a nice run.

I'm really excited to get started and I hope for those of you who are gone already can get a kick out of watching me run ;)
